Soumitra Chatterjee is a popular Indian actor who is known for his fourteen films with Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray. During his career, his talent and work were frequently compared to Bengali cinema's iconic figure Uttam Kumar.
He is even the first Indian film figure to receive France's highest artistic honour, the Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres besides the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. Personal Life of Soumitra Chatterjee
Soumitra Chatterjee was born in 1935 in Calcutta and attended Howrah Zilla School after his family relocated there. He graduated from Calcutta University and received an honours degree in Bengali literature from City College. Also, he earned a Bengali M.A. from Calcutta University. When he witnessed a play by Sisir Bhaduri in his final year of college, his life took a turn for the better.
About Feluda - An Eternally Loved Character
Satyajit Ray created the detective character of Feluda and published it in his Bengali children's magazine called Sandesh. It was published by Subhas Mukhopadhyay alongside Satyajit Ray.
Later, he decided to bring the character alive by creating movies. Feluda is basically a private investigator who is said to live in Ballygunge.
